School and Group Visits

Patchwork Farm offers children and adults a unique opportunity to learn in an outdoor environment, interact with animals and experience the multi-sensory stimulation that only a farm can offer.

Patchwork Farm is the ideal place to bring your group to learn about animals. It is a unique hands-on experience. We offer educational sessions for both mainstream and special schools, as well as other community groups.

A visit to Patchwork Farm usually lasts 2 hours and consists of up to 4 talks (listed below) chosen in advance. Each session can be linked to Key Stage 2 and 3 science and includes hands-on activities.

  • Chicken and duck talk/handling
  • Pig talk/feeding
  • Sheep and goat talk/feeding
  • Animal handling (guinea pigs)
  • Where does our food come from?
  • Life processes
  • Free time (worksheets available)

We can accommodate groups of up to 15 children and young adults with a staffing ratio of up to 1:1. We can also offer your school/group free time on the farm with activities and worksheets for your young people to work through.
