Four of our lovely support staff at Chailey Heritage Foundation, Emily, Karen, Debs and Laura, who all work at the residential Chestnut bungalow, have planned a creative fundraiser as part of the Focus 10K challenge.
On the 13th June, they will all do a 2.5km powerwalk around the site in full PPE, but there’s a twist… It will be a relay where each will take turns pushing a teammate in a wheelchair around the route, to reach a grand total of 10km of power walking (and wheelchair pushing!) between them all.
They said “ This is not going to be for the faint hearted. It’ll be hot and stuffy, and there are hills galore. Yes-we are probably all mad, but we are doing this because our young people deserve every penny raised to make their lives the best quality, and happiest possible”.
We think they are amazing for taking on this challenge for Chailey.
You can visit ‘Team Chestnut’s’ Just Giving page here. Help support their challenge to raise vital funds for children and young people with complex disabilities at Chailey Heritage Foundation.
Best of luck and we look forward to seeing the challenge photos.
