Helen Dunman and Paula Marten of Chailey Heritage Foundation attended a conference at Swiss Cottage School, London on Thursday 29th November titled ‘The Cutting Edge – Pushing Back the Boundaries in Special Education.’
Along with notable speakers such as Les Staves, Joanna Grace and Flo Longhorn (with Keith Park acting as ‘minstrel for the day’), Helen delivered a first class presentation on communication with teenagers about those aspects of growing up which can prove the most troublesome….titled ‘Hair, Moods, Sweats and Sex’.
Helen delivered a challenging topic with passion, expertise and humour and the audience couldn’t have been more impressed! Joanna Grace shared key points from Helen’s talk to an even wider audience via Twitter/Facebook. Requests for Helen to deliver her training at other special schools are already coming in as a result of the Swiss Cottage conference.
Educating other professionals in the field is an essential part of the work of Chailey Heritage Foundation and Helen’s work was a fantastic example of this.
