Patchwork Farm continues to be a fantastic source of inspiration for learning activities for the Hanbury students.
H1 class took their Big Mac switches down to the Farm recently and recorded some sounds of their choice. They chose animals to record individually, with support from their TAs, and then when they brought the switches back to their classroom, their classmates were given the challenge of identifying the sounds! Cue lots of opportunities for practising their Makaton signs and using their CCS books – all of which links to their individual Next Steps, of course.
Turn taking, anticipation, looking and listening were also practised during this session. TAs were pretty challenged too. Some of the animals weren’t as easy to recognise as they might have expected!
