On 12th April 2018, Folkington’s organised a spectacular Sussex Gin & Tonic Tasting in aid of Chailey Heritage Foundation.
Set at the beautiful Hendall Manor Barns, we were delighted to attend and enjoyed an evening of festivities and fundraising.
We were joined by 7 local distilleries, giving the guests the opportunity to try their Sussex gins. Those who joined us were:
Folkington’s were also in attendance, providing tonic water in a variety of flavours.
As well as the tastings, we were treated to a talk from Ellie Dobing of Brighton Gin on the history of gin. There were also talks from Folkington’s about tonic water and Chailey Heritage Foundation, to remind everyone what the evening was in aid of.
On top of this, we held a raffle with all proceeds going towards the children and young people here at Chailey Heritage Foundation. Raffle prizes included the chance to win a bottle of gin (from the 7 distilleries which were present) and a pack of Folkington’s tonic waters.
Through ticket sales, the raffle and kind donations on the night, we managed to raise an incredible £2,961.06! All funds raised will go towards the D.R.E.A.M. Centre.
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank Folkington’s and Hendall Manor Barns for arranging a fantastic evening for all. We’d also like to thank Mayfiled Gin, Seven Sisters, Brighton Gin, Foxhole Gin, Harley House Distillery, Tom Cat Gin and Slake Spirits for their amazing support with the event. Also, we'd like to say a special thank you to Waitrose for kindly donating towards canapés for our guests to enjoy.
