Thanks to a generous donation from Circus Starr, the young people from across the foundation were given the chance to attend two circus performances on the 7th January 2019.
Circus Starr is a touring circus and provides free seats for thousands of disadvantaged, disabled or vulnerable children across the UK.
Sitting in the front row, the young people were fully immersed in the show which had wire walking, juggling (including one lady using her feet!), unicycling and Bippo the clown. The story was a hunt for the greatest snowman which ended with a British Sign Language version of ‘Reach for the Stars’ changed to ‘shout, Circus Starr’, encouraging audience participation.
The show was a brilliantly immersive experience and they carefully considered how best to include everyone. The young people loved the performances, as they watched carefully and some danced in their chairs throughout the whole show!
Rosie Smith, Activities Coordinator, Futures, commented,
“The young people from Futures LOVED last night at Circus Starr!”
We’d like to thank Circus Starr for the tickets – we can’t wait to go again in the future!
