Chailey Fest 2018

24 Aug 2018

Chailey Fest returned to St Martin’s department for its 4th annual festival and the biggest to date! With two stages and a plethora of activities to suit the young people’s curriculums we got the opportunity to experience a range of musical genres from Rockabilly to Rap!

The children could also use the day to practice their gross motor skills in the mud pits and paddling pools, make design choices for their glitter and body paint tattoos and even use their VOCAs to make decisions as to which sauce they wanted on their falafel or beef burgers!

The day was made even more fun with a dance tent that housed a huge sound system, lighting rig and resonance boards for the children to feel the vibrations. We used the mobile hoists and multiple in-house hoisting system to practice dance moves and made fresh floral garlands or hoops for anyone who wanted to engage in a quieter activity.

The day was geared to explore and awaken all the senses and with the glorious weather we did just that!

A special thank you to our artists who voluntarily gave up their time and talents for the day – Jac Verrion, Ben Pruden, Poppy Peach, Brighton Electric and the Sheddingdean Strummers.
