During Hanbury’s Enrichment week, the wonderful Barry (Bazza) West came in to Chailey Heritage School to run an art workshop. Everyone was totally inspired – including the staff! Barry helped us realise that we are ALL artists!
Barry paints with his mouth and he showed us how he painted a space picture and how to embellish it with stencils and stickers, etc. All the young people were able to take part, either by painting independently – using a brush or their fingers, or by communicating choices of colours and shapes to staff.
At the end of the workshop Barry signed everyone’s pictures and made time to talk to everyone individually. He inspired us to realise that we all have talents and we all CAN do art – or anything we want to do!
