Over the spring bank holiday back in May the children and young people who live with us attended a fantastic ‘Rainbow Fair’ onsite.
The Saturday and Sunday saw household groups from each of our residential bungalows enjoying traditional fairground stalls like ‘Tin Can Alley’, ‘Splat the Rat' and ‘Hook-a-Duck’ in the open air.
The most popular attraction was the switch operated catapult, hands down! Designed by our own engineer to be accessed by a specialist switch, it launched wet sponges or cream pies towards the nominated staff member. One turn rarely sufficed, and there were many requests for more cream and more chances to aim for the face of keyworkers, the Gym Instructor or the Activities Co-ordinator!
The fair concluded on bank holiday Monday with a silent disco for each bungalow group, complete with bubbles, good tunes and a maypole to dance around.
A huge thank you to all the staff who organised the event and created many of the stalls.
