Here we take a moment to look back over past projects and remind ourselves of all the great work that young disabled people have achieved at the Chailey Heritage Foundation Futures Life Skills Centre over the years.
Next up, Avtar.
Regular multimedia suite user Avtar and his support worker Paul got to road test the new ‘Beamz’ Interactive music player in a recent ICT session. ‘Beamz’ can be accessed manually by breaking up to 4 laser beams by hand or via software and use of eye tracking technology. Avtar and Paul are playing a duet in this way in the picture shown here.
The ‘Beamz’ unit comes with 50+ interactive songs; wide variation of genres and instruments throughout songs and is ideal for working with people of all ages and abilities.
More details about this technology can be found here www.thebeamz.com/
Paul Crawford, our ICT Activities Co-ordinator comments: “Here at Chailey Heritage Foundation Life Skills Centre we are constantly on the lookout for new and exciting technology that can enable our customers to participate in activities in the same way as their non-disabled peers do. Through people’s generous donations we are able to continue to put smiles on faces and help young disabled people to meaningfully pursue their full potential.”
