Simon trained as a secondary school English teacher and worked for five years in a secondary comprehensive school in Tottenham, before transferring to a special needs school. Simon has wide experience of teaching pupils with many various special needs.
Prior to joining Chailey Heritage School, Simon worked for East Sussex County Council for two years as a Manager, Special Educational Needs Service Delivery. This post gave him a great insight into all the different types of special educational needs provision.
As Headteacher, Simon has developed an innovative new curriculum for the pupils at Chailey Heritage School, the CHILD curriculum, where every learner has their own programme built specifically for them based on their skills and desired outcomes. This new curriculum has created much interest in the world of special education and Simon has recently spoken at national conferences.
Simon is an Ofsted Inspector primarily inspecting special schools.
