Visit to Ditchling Garden Centre
The PMLD class in Hanbury had a wonderful morning at the Ditchling Garden Centre – just up the road!
When we arrived we encountered 3 reindeer heads sticking out of a wall, which moved and sang songs when we pressed a switch! (This was a great way of reaching our access technology targets!)
We were especially spoilt by the staff in the café, particularly Jane, who put heaters on in a part of the café specifically reserved for us, and she made sure we had enough tables and space to stay as a group. She even brought out the drinks and cakes we ordered to our tables!
We will definitely go back as we were made to feel so welcome and because the Centre offered so many experiences for our students to use their senses. (It was the perfect time of year to visit the centre with all the Christmas decorations, toys, lights, smells and tastes!)
