The Pathways service is continuing to support individuals in their own homes as far as they are able to, while following national guidance and assessing risk with parents or carers.
The Life Skills Centre (LSC) closed to non residents in mid March. Happily, after much careful planning and multiple steps taken to become a Covid-19 secure workplace, the LSC is now open for Hub users who wish to attend either using Pathways and Hub staff or their own PA’s / family for support. This is all subject to certain restrictions to limit the number of external people on site, including the use of “Bubbles”, social distancing, PPE and daily temperature checks for accompanying staff.
Social distancing requirements limit the number of Hub sessions each day. Increasing the sessions over the autumn will depend on government guidance but exciting plans are in hand to create additional space for the Hub so that, in 2021, it can be open to more people.
We know that many of our external customers are eagerly awaiting our reopening, as are the LSC team. This is very obviously dependant on the latest guidance, rules and local situations, all of which we are paying very close attention to.
Our closure has given us the time to look at the necessary precautionary measures that will be in place when we do reopen and which will have an impact on the way that we operate going forwards. Please look out for further updates.
