On your marks for the Big Give 2019

19 November 2019

As part of the Big Give Christmas Challenge we have set ourselves the challenge of raising £9,000, with every penny being matched. That means that if we reach our target, your donations will be worth £18,000!

For one week only, from 3rd December, every donation made online will be doubled and the funds raised will all go towards helping us purchase our very own Innowalk for young people with complex disabilities. Similar in appearance to a cross-trainer, an Innowalk is a motor-operated motion therapy device that gives people who use wheelchairs the chance to move their legs and arms in both sitting and standing positions.

Young people at Chailey recently had the chance to use an Innowalk when we had one on a trial basis and the feedback from parents, teachers and physiotherapists has been hugely positive. By having access to our own Innowalk, young people will be able to gain a whole range of health benefits including:

• building muscles

• strengthening bones and improving joint flexibility

• increasing heart rate whilst exercising

• improving appetite, digestion and bladder control

• improving concentration and sleep patterns

Watch our video to see how Fenton got on when he gave it a try.

When can I donate?

How are the funds matched?

The funds are generously matched by Candis Magazine, Jackson-Stops Mid Sussex, Focus Group, Sunninghill Construction, Thorne Civil Engineering, PGL Brickwork and Scaffolding, Adavirtual and Barwells Solicitors. A huge thanks to them all!
