As one of Brighton & Hove Albion FC’s charity partners, we were delighted to have the chance to fundraise at the sold-out BHAFC v Chelsea FC match on the 20th January 2018.
Before the game, Chailey Heritage Foundation volunteers were out in force outside the Amex Stadium with collection buckets in hand. Despite the miserable weather, our fantastic team persevered and helped raise much needed funds and awareness for the charity.
We also ran a penalty shootout in the Fan Zone with the winner taking home a signed BHAFC football. Well done Alfred! Gully (BHAFC’s mascot) even had a go at wheelchair football.
Vicki Harper, whose son Sam is a keen Young Seagull and attends Chailey Heritage School, answered questions at half time with 30,600 people watching. Read more about their story here.
Through the bucket collections, Fan Zone activity and text donations, we managed to £4,000 on the day, and with Gift Aid that total will reach almost £5,000. What an absolutely fantastic effort!
We’d like to take this opportunity to send a huge thank you Brighton & Hove Albion FC for their amazing support and for the opportunity to raise vital funds and awareness for Chailey Heritage Foundation, and to our team of dedicated volunteers who braved the rain on Saturday.
