On Saturday, members of our care team Emily, Karen, Debs and Laura completed their Focus 10K fundraising challenge for Chailey Heritage Foundation. They all work in the Chestnut bungalow, part of the charity’s onsite residential accommodation.
The challenge entailed a 2.5km powerwalk around the site in full PPE, with two team members at a time being pushed in a wheelchair around the route, with a swap of roles half way through. Between them, they totalled an exhausting 10km of power walking and wheelchair pushing!
They were cheered on by all the young people at Chestnut, as they tackled the hills and the heat. It was a great success, and they have raised an amazing £700 for Chailey Heritage Foundation so far. To support their fundraising, check out their Just Giving Page here.
A massive thank you to our four incredible staff members for taking on this challenge, we know it was tough, and we think you are all inspirations.
All funds raised will help to change the lives of the children and young people with complex disabilities at Chailey Heritage Foundation. If you would like to complete your own fundraiser for Chailey, you can get your fundraising guide here, or check out our new range of virtual challenges.
