Thank you to the DM Thomas Foundation for recently donating over £14,000 to Chailey Heritage Foundation. They raised the funds at their annual Midsummer Ball that took place at the Hilton Brighton Metropole in June.
The donation will help to kick-start our appeal to purchase three Innowalks for children and young people with complex disabilities. Similar in appearance to a cross trainer, these specialist pieces of equipment give people with even the most profound disabilities the chance to exercise out of a wheelchair.
Mikey, who attends the 16-19 department at Chailey Heritage School, recently had the opportunity to use an Innowalk when we had one loaned to us on a trial basis. His mum Jenny commented, “It’s the first time Mikey has experienced moving his arms and legs in a natural walking pattern since he lost mobility seven years ago. Given its adaptability the Innowalk really is a "must” for Chailey Heritage Foundation.”
Each Innowalk costs around £40,000. If you would like to know how you can help us raise the funds needed, please contact the fundraising team by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or call us on 01825 724 752.
