Haywards Heath Lions Swimarathon 2017 a Roaring Success

Haywards Heath Lions Swimarathon 2017 a Roaring Success

On the 13th June Haywards Heath Lions' President Denys Hutson presented Joan Martin, representing Chailey Heritage Foundation, with a cheque for an amazing £13,000.

Now in its 34th year, the Haywards Heath Lions Club's Swimarathon is an annual charity fundraising event held every Good Friday at the Dolphin Leisure Centre, in Haywards Heath. On Friday 14th April 2017, 57 teams of six took part in a 55-minute-long relay to raise money for a good cause of their own choice and for the Lions Club selected good cause.

Teams included families, schools, guides, brownies, sports clubs, churches, youth clubs, special needs groups, and luncheon clubs.

This year the Lions chose to support Chailey Heritage Foundation as their chosen charity, to support our D.R.E.A.M Centre appeal to create a modern, purpose built space, large enough for children and young people with complex disabilities to participate in a mixture of arts and physical activities.

We are enormously grateful to everyone who chose to fundraise for Chailey Heritage Foundation, and would like to thank all those who took part, as well as their friends and family for supporting them, all the corporate sponsors without whom the event wouldn't be possible, and last but by no means least, the team from the Haywards Heath Lions Club for all their hard work and dedication to this event.

The event was supported by Mike Oliver Associates, Waitrose, Sainsburys, The Orchards Shoppping Centre, ILG Logistics and Griffith Smith Farrington Webb Solicitors.
