Lord's Taverners present CHF with a Wheelchair Accessible Minibus

On Wednesday 28th June, Guy, Keelie, and Ella, pupils from Hanbury, our 16+ department, travelled to Eastbourne to attend the official presentation of our new wheelchair accessible minibus.

The minibus was presented by the Lady Taverners at their annual fundraising lunch. Olympic skating star Jayne Torvill was special guest at the 16th anniversary seaside charity lunch organised by the Kent & East Sussex Lady Taverners at Eastbourne’s Grand Hotel.

The Lady Taverners is the fundraising arm of the sporting charity and club the Lord’s Taverners, which is famous for its charitable giving to cricket.

The new minibus arrived in the middle of Seymour's activities week and will be put to use immediately. It will be used to take young people from the School, and those that live in the residences, on a wide range of educational, sporting and leisure outings.

We would like to say a huge thank you to the Lord's Taverners for supplying this minibus and for providing 50% of the funds towards it, and to all of our supporters who helped to raise £28,000 towards this appeal.
